The Mahu Mansion Ancient Town, located in Pingshan County of Sichuan Province, has recently been upgraded with a cultural and tourist illumination to enhance its night vision and enhance its historic identity. The project, as a key element in the regional night tourism development plan, requires a lighting scheme that accurately highlights the traditional architecture while preserving energy efficiency and long-term reliability.

In order to achieve this goal, the Lighting Design Team chose high performance LED wall washers to light up the facade of the old town. This approach creates a distinct architectural profile, adds depth to the streets cape, and provides a visually attractive environment for visitors to explore at night.

The project focused on the following goals:

1. Enhance architectural contours without altering the original structure.

2. Improve nighttime visibility and create a warm, welcoming ambience for tourists.

Wall Washer Solution

To achieve a uniform and immersive lighting effect, the project incorporated outdoor LED wall washer lights strategically installed along key building facades. Through precise adjustment of beam angles and mounting positions, the design highlights roof lines, pillars, and curved eaves while delivering smooth, continuous illumination without hot spots. This approach enhances depth and visual rhythm across the architectural layout, all while maintaining energy efficiency and reducing maintenance requirements—ultimately allowing the ancient town’s historical charm to stand out and attract visitors as a vibrant night-time destination.

The selected wall washer fixtures were customized to meet the environmental and structural conditions of the site:

1. Beam Angle Options: 10°/24°/36° to adapt to short- and long-throw facade lighting needs.

2. Installation Flexibility: Adjustable mounting brackets for varied wall heights and angles.

3. Power Configurations: 18W / 24W / 36W / 48W models suitable for contour lighting and large-surface illumination.

4. Color Consistency: High-quality LEDs delivering stable color uniformity for architectural surfaces.

5. Durability: IP66 weatherproof rating for long-term outdoor operation.

Since the lighting upgrade, Mahu Mansion Ancient Town has experienced a significant improvement in its nighttime visual appeal.
